My career
I’m proud to say that I am a Nightingale Nurse – not that I’m old enough to have trained with her – but trained at her hospital, St Thomas’ hospital. After a few years in South America I returned to become a Health Visitor – unusually - for older people as well as babies. During that time, I broadcast on 2 local radio stations on how to care for baby!!
I fell into a management job – managing Health Visitors and District Nurses in various locations around Surrey and North Hampshire and then went into the planning, (i.e. commissioning) side of services. Now, I am very happy running our small, specialist live-in care business. I have a great team behind me who are as passionate about getting it right as I am.
I love meeting new clients and their families and really enjoy helping people to find their way through the maze of health and social care provisions that are out there.
