Meet The Team
Our business has been built on the understanding that independence is a fundamental right that should be afforded to all who value it.
Our team has a particular vocation for the work that they do, which means they have a natural aptitude for delivering care which is as individual as you are. However, it is the combination of working compassionately and receiving guidance and training in accordance with regulations that ensures a well-rounded level of care is delivered.

Christina Sell – Managing Director / Acting Registered Manager
I’m proud to say that I am a Nightingale Nurse, I trained at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. After time in South America, I returned to become a Health Visitor. I fell into a management job – managing Health Visitors and District Nurses in Surrey and North Hampshire. Robert and I set up Arbour Companions & Care in 2015. I am very happy running our small, specialist live-in care business. I have a great team behind me who are as passionate about getting it as right as I am. I love meeting new clients and their families. I enjoy many interests including pottery, dressmaking, cooking, bridge, and golf to name but a few!
Robert Sell - Finance Director
After studying statistics and accounting at London School of Economics, I enjoyed a varied finance career in the commercial world. We moved to South America for nine years to run a procurement business, with offices in Miami and London. Looking for a change of pace, I decided to move into the care sector with my wife Christina. We have owned and managed our specialist live-in care company for 9 years now and I’m responsible for all financial and commercial decisions Away from work I enjoy playing golf, bridge and socialising with family and friends.

My varied role includes managing and supporting our office team, meeting with new clients to discuss their care needs and carrying out care needs assessments. I also enjoy developing relationships with healthcare settings and the local community. My career has been a blend of healthcare and education, having worked as a nurse in London hospitals, Marie Curie nursing, homecare management, recruitment and working with children with special educational needs.
Sadie Gray – Business Manager

During my time with Arbour Care, I have progressed from Care-Co-ordinator to Care Manager. My new role includes managing and supporting our field care supervisor and carers, carrying out supervisions, observations, and client well-being visits. I love getting out in the community to give hands-on support. Having school-aged children, my spare time is spent at clubs and days out - they certainly keep me active.

Smruti Jadav - Accountant
I came from Mauritius to the United Kingdom to study accountancy. I joined the financial services industry, and held various positions as an Accountant, Business Analyst and Project Manager dealing with changeover projects relating to systems, business, products, and clients. Whilst working full-time in financial services, I decided to set up my own business and continued to juggle with both for the next 7 years. I am passionate about the care industry having initially worked as a carer while studying, working with family and friends who own nursing homes and looking after my disabled mother-in-law for 25 years as her main carer. Arbour Care has enhanced my knowledge further and I thrive to help carers and clients with finance with a kind and caring approach, which is different to my initial career in financial services! In my spare time I enjoy yoga, swimming, travelling and long walks on a beach front.
Our History
In recent years it became abundantly clear to Christina that there was a need for a new type of care - one that allowed people to remain at home whilst ensuring friends and family were afforded much needed peace of mind.
Having worked in the NHS and social services sectors for many years, Christina understood the countless worries people had when a loved one began to need more help. This, coupled with a gap in the market for a live in care provision, encouraged the family to make the transition from running their own nursing home, to growing their own live in care business.
The vision capitalised on years of industry knowledge, bringing about a new era of care that demonstrated an ability to deliver high-quality care on a par with a good care home. Moreover this option would prove affordable and flexible enough to meet the many differing wishes and needs of people wanting care.
Arbour Care hold great store in their training and quality monitoring. Arbour Care is registered with the Care Quality Comission and meets all stringent quality standards.
They set themselves apart by their superb training, their quality monitoring processes and their commitment to their clients – providing ‘care for your relatives just as you would give your own’.
